Featured Crafter: Trifles N Treasures

Happy Monday friends! I hope your weekend was a great one. Our Featured Crafter for this week is Tera from Trifles N Treasures. Tera is a fun and outgoing gal who I have come to know over the last few months. She has such a spunky personality and I enjoy chatting with her.  Congrats Tera on reaching 6,000 fans on Facebook!

Tera from Trifles N Treasures

What is your main business focus?
Treasured Rose Set
Since I have just purchased my domain, and upgraded my site, my main focus right now is making my website as fun and user-friendly as possible. I focus most of my time on designing crochet patterns, though~baby booties, infant photo props, and hats seem to be my biggest draw, although I do bags, a few toys, and even some blankets.

Crocodile Stitch Booties from Trifles N Treasures

What is your greatest accomplishment or what are you most proud of?
My Crocodile Stitch Booties~hands down! I love that design, and how cute they turn out, and it is my best selling pattern. I am also proud of the growth that I have achieved, mostly in the past year, with my business and my excellent record of good customer service.

What is something you struggle with?
Patience! I have little patience, especially when I am excited about a new design or idea. It's very difficult some days, to get much accomplished, having 3 young children at home, all of whom are home-schooled, When I get on a roll or get a great new idea, I just want to sit down, and get it done, but my children usually decide that's the time they need ALL of my attention. So, patience wears very thin sometimes.
Happy Hands

What advice would you give someone starting out?
Make sure your product is something to be proud of! Whether it's an item to sell, or one you plan to give away, it should always be the best quality you can make it. And ALWAYS follow through with good customer service. It's very easy to get a customer the first time around, but if you want them to return, they need to feel sure that they are getting exactly what they need from you. Whether it's a simple answer to a question, or a timely response to a need. Happy customers share happy experiences, but unhappy customers share even more!

Is there someone in the craft community that you admire and why? Oh yes! Miss Sandy Powers is my crochet idol! I have adored her work and her designs for SUCH a long time~she makes me want to be better than I am :) I also admire Miss Heidi Yates. Her unique designs and fun colors are ALWAYS inspiring! Both of these ladies are very professional and engaging business women, and I am both humbled and honored to call them my friends.
Woodland Fairy Hat

What is your go to tool of choice for your projects and why?
Usually Red Heart yarns, simply because they are so easily accessible for me, but also because they have a good, consistent quality. An H or I hook is usually my hook of choice, but I am comfortable using most any size. Strangely enough, the smaller hooks are more comfortable to me than the larger hooks are.
Vivie Boots

What is something crazy/fun about you that others may not know
I have lived all over the South, including Florida, and usually near the ocean, and I have YET to find a sharks tooth on the beach! I have searched for over 10 years now, and that is the ONE thing that drives me nuts~I want to find my own sharks tooth, so I can make my own necklace from it!

Miss Tera has such a fun personality and seriously is an Energizer Bunny!  I hope you've enjoyed getting to know a little more about her. Take a moment to pop on over to her page and tell her hello.

  2. I adore Tera. That was a great interview. She says she has trouble with patience. I say she has more than she knows. She has her hands full and still a creative wonder.
