With All My Heart Photo Prop Full Version
This Free Pattern is for the purpose of offering it as a service to local hospitals for Angel Babies.  This includes the instructions for the SMALL Heart Base and border ONLY and not the lace section.

Materials:
2oz Red Heart With Love (main color)
1oz Red Heart With Love (2nd color)

1 stitch Marker
Crochet hook Size I


Gauge: 3 DC & 2 Rows = 1"

Finished Size: 18" L x 19" W

You can of course use any yarn and hook size you prefer.  Your finished size will just be different. 


Stitches:
St(s) - Stitch(es)
YO - Yarn Over
Ch - Chain
Sl St - Slip Stitch
Sk - Skip
Sp - Space
SC - Single Crochet
HDC - Half Double Crochet
HDC2TOG - Half Double Crochet 2 together

Note: Ch 2 will not count as a stitch for this base unless otherwise noted.

R1: Ch 3, 3 HDC in 3rd Ch from hook (3 sts)
R2: Ch 2, turn, 2 HDC in same sp as Ch, 2 HDC in each of the  next 2 sts (6 sts)
R3: Ch 2, turn, 2 HDC in same sp as Ch, HDC in each st to end,  2 HDC in end st (8 sts)
R4-25: Repeat R3.  Each row count will increase by 2. R25 will have 52 sts
R26-28: Ch 2, turn, HDC in each st across (52 sts)



Right Arch:

R29: Ch 2, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 22 sts, SC in next st, sl st in next st (24 sts) Place stitch marker in the next st.  That is where you will begin the Left Arch
R30: Ch 1, turn, SC in next st, HDC in next 23 sts (24 sts)
R31: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 23 sts (23 sts)
R32: Ch 1, turn, SC in next st, HDC in next 20 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (22 sts)
R33: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 21 sts (21 sts)
R34: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 19 sts (20 sts)
R35: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 18 sts (19 sts)
R36: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 17 sts (18 sts)
R37: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x, HDC in next 10 sts, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x    (14 sts)
R38: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 10 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (12 sts)
R39: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x, HDC in next 4 sts (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x, (8 sts)
R40: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 4 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (6 sts)
R41: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 3x (3 sts)
Fasten off and weave in end.

Left Arch:

R29: Connect yarn where the stitch marker is with a sl st and remove stitch marker, SC in next st, HDC in next 22 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (24 sts)
R30: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 23 sts, SC in next st (24 sts)
R31: Ch 1, turn, sk 1st st, HDC in next 23 sts (23 sts)
R32: Ch 1, trn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 20 sts, SC in next st (22 sts)
R33: Ch 1, turn, sk 1st st, HDC in next 21 sts (21 sts)
R34: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 19 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (20 sts)
R35: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 18 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (19 sts)
R36: Ch 1, turn, HDC in next 17 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (18 sts)
R37: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x, HDC in next 10 sts, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x (14 sts)
R38: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 10 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (12 sts)
R39: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x, HDC in next 4 sts, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 2x (8 sts)
R40: Ch 1, turn, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts, HDC in next 4 sts, HDC2TOG with next 2 sts (6 sts)
R41: Ch 1, turn, (HDC2TOG with next 2 sts) 3x (3 sts)
Do NOT fasten off.  Continue on with border

Border:

Ch 1, SC evenly in multiples of 4 around the entire edge of heart.  Sl St to beginning Ch 1 to connect.  *Ch 4, sk next st, sl st in next st* Repeat *to* around, sl st to beginning sl st to connect.  Fasten off and weave in end.
Attach 2nd color to any available SC with a sl st, *Ch 4, sl st in next available st* Repeat *to* around rotating working in front of and behind the chains of the other color so that it gives a twisted look.  Sl st to beginning sl st of this color to connect, fasten off and weave in end.
