Crochet Style by Jennifer Dougherty Book Review AND Giveaway!

Hey everyone, how are you doing?  I have something fun for you today and hope that you'll be as excited as I am!

I received a copy of Crochet by Jennifer's latest book Crochet Style to review and all opinions in this post are my own.  I'm also thrilled that I get to give away a copy to 1 lucky winner!

Giveaway open through March 25, 2017 11:59pm MST and is open to US residents only.

Crochet Style has over 30 designs to help you stay warm and stylish at the same time.  Men, women, children, toddlers and infants...she's got you covered from head to toe!

Jennifer started designing back in 2010 and founded her business Crochet by Jennifer.

I have always been impressed with her ability to add such beautiful texture to her designs.  She takes pride in her work and has a wonderful group of testers to help make her patterns the best.  Jennifer has a great ability to explain more complicated stitches so they're easy to understand.  If you're not a fan already, be sure to check out her social media sites at the bottom of this post so you can keep up to date with all her creations.

So, here is what I like about Crochet Style...

1.  You know how easy it is to get mixed up on stitch counts when there are a bunch of sizes in the same pattern?  I promise, you won't have such troubles when working Jennifer's designs!  The sizes are color coded to make it easier for you to follow - Woo Hoo!

2. Sizing - have you ever crocheted something to wear and then it didn't fit because the sizing is off?  I have and it was VERY frustrating. In this book, you'll find size charts for each pattern so you know exactly what to expect (once you've checked your gauge to match)

Gridlock Beanie
3. How many times have you seen something you want to make and the pattern includes a wide range of sizes yet only 1 photo of one size is shown?  Then you wonder if it will really look good in the size you need.  You'll love looking through Crochet Style and seeing such beautiful photos showing the textures of each design well.  Many are also modeled in different sizes so you can see how they look on toddlers and adults.

4. The build of the book is great!  When you open it to start working on your many projects, you don't have to worry about the pages flipping.  It stays open nicely on it's own and let's you enjoy your crochet time.

With the cool spring weather upon us, there are several ear warmer designs that are perfect for this time of year.  This is the Aurora Ear Warmer and look how great it is.  This is what I have on my hook right now and I have a feeling I will be making one in a few different colors for my girls.  The pattern is easy to follow and one that you can whip up quickly while visiting or watching your favorite movie.

There are SO many beautiful crochet patterns out there for women though it's harder to find just the right one to make for the man in your life.  The Arrowhead Beanie in this book is one of my favorite textured hats for men.

And last but surely not least, one of my favorite designs for women is the Summit Cowl.  Comfy, Classy and Stylish!

I really love the selection that Jennifer has given in this book.  Hats, cowls, boot cuffs, earwarmers, fingerless mitts and regular mittens are all included.  Now is the perfect time to start whipping up some gifts to have on hand for winter birthdays, teacher gifts and Christmas.  Get ahead of the season and start crocheting now!  You'll have plenty to keep you busy this year with your own copy of Crochet Style!
