I'm so excited!!! This is what the next month will be filled with for Crafting Friends Designs.

As most of you know, I created the Battle of the Stitches crochet challenge back in February of 2014.  It's a fun crochet competition for designers to share the love of crochet. 10-12 designers create a new design using the same crochet stitch and a theme to focus on.  It's been a wonderful experience to get to know so many other talented ladies and build friendships and strengthen our businesses together.

This round will be COMPLETELY different for me! Jennifer from Little Luvies Shop and Lisa from Kaleidoscope Art&Gifts have jumped on board behind the scenes and taken the reigns so that I can actually be a challenger this time.  Woo Hoo!!!

From the beginning, I said that I would never expect others to use a stitch/theme that I wasn't willing to use in a design myself. I did create a design in the first 3 rounds along side the challengers, but my designs were not judged to keep things fair.  Round 1 was the Rocky Road Stitch and Mother's Day theme. Since I cook a lot, I designed the Rocky Road Towel Top pattern.

Round 2 was the Triangle Stitch and Fun in the Sun theme.  For this, I designed the Fun in the Sun Coaster/Table mat, Granny Square, Bolero and Afghan.

And for Round 3, we jumped from having Fun in the Sun to Winter Wonderland using the Braided Cable crochet stitch.  For this challenge, I created my Braided Cable Chevron Afghan which I Love and has been a hit with fans!

Jennifer has chosen the stitch and theme this round and I'm completely in the dark along side the other 11 challengers.  (I have to admit, it's slightly odd not knowing all the details and a little nerve racking)
I know it will all be a fantastic experience and I can't wait to see how my new design is accepted by fans since all designs are kept completely secret as to who made each one.
I think that is a wonderful aspect of this challenge - the designs being judged based on creativeness and the actual design and not because of who designed it.  I love that the focus is on our craft!
Be sure to follow along, Cheer on the challengers, Interact for your chance to win prizes and Vote for your favorite next month!
